Our Executive Director, Josephine Bias Robinson, recently expressed her support for the “Vocational Education for a New Generation Act of 2024” before the DC City Council’s Committee of the Whole. Her testimony underscored the importance of legislation and strategic investments to expand equitable access to career and technical education (CTE) opportunities for all DC students.
The written testimony highlights key areas for enhancing CTE, including a four-year project to catalog and analyze existing career development programs in DC middle and high schools. This project will assess program costs, outcomes, and existing gaps in resources, providing essential data to support policymakers as they work to ensure DC students are equipped for successful careers.
